The Role

The Publishing team is dedicated to crafting exceptional out-of-game experiences for players around the world. As part of the Publishing Insights team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that strategic decisions are grounded in robust data analysis—ultimately driving better outcomes for both our player community and the company.

In this role, you will lead analytics initiatives that deepen our understanding of global audiences and player behaviors, and identify product opportunities within our sports portfolio. As a Principal Insights Analyst, you’ll combine strategic thinking, quantitative analysis, and problem-solving to influence product direction and optimize performance. You’ll report directly to the Manager of Publishing Insights and collaborate closely with product teams across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with product managers to identify and assess high-impact growth opportunities for sports within the global esports landscape.

  • Performance Measurement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for international leagues, enabling regional leaders to make informed operational decisions.

  • Problem Structuring: Translate complex business questions into clear, data-informed analytical frameworks that support decision-making at all levels.

  • Audience Insights: Create innovative metrics and modeling approaches to better understand global gaming audiences and inform both product and portfolio strategies.

  • Data Infrastructure: Build dashboards, data pipelines, and experiments to assess key drivers of performance, user behavior, and league effectiveness.

  • Experimentation: Design and execute A/B tests and apply causal inference techniques to evaluate the impact of new products and features.

  • Collaboration: Work with Insights and Product teams at our Los Angeles headquarters to align on priorities and enhance data and analytics capabilities.


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, data science, product strategy, business intelligence, or a related field—preferably within gaming, media, or consumer technology

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing large, complex datasets and drawing actionable insights

  • Proven background in developing product or business strategies based on data-driven analysis

  • Strong proficiency in SQL or Python (used daily in this role)

  • Advanced skills in data analysis and spreadsheet tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Databricks and dbt for data pipeline development

  • Proficiency in Tableau or other data visualization platforms

  • Track record of working with senior executives and product stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes


Compensation

  • Hourly Pay Rate: $91.32 – $118.58, based on experience and qualifications
