Financial Controller – North Yorkshire

A Hybrid Financial Controller role for someone who enjoys leading a finance team and working collaboratively with stakeholders across this unique not for profit organisation. Based in a beautiful location in North Yorkshire, with hybrid working available (an expectations of 2 days based in the office, but you can be in more regularly if you prefer), you’ll have the opportunity to shape financial processes and drive improvements while managing a small, dedicated finance team.

You’ll be a qualified accountant who thrives on managing successful systems and people, working closely with the CFO to deliver accurate financial reporting and meaningful management information. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to commit to an interim fixed term contract role as a Financial Controller position within a unique not for profit organisation.

What you’ll be doing as Financial Controller…

  • Lead and develop a finance team comprising Assistant Management Accountant, Senior Finance Assistant, and Finance Assistant
  • Deputise for the CFO when required
  • Produce monthly management accounts and KPIs
  • Assist in the production of Annual Reports and Accounts
  • Manage the external audit process
  • Oversee payroll processing and statutory returns
  • Work with senior stakeholders to improve systems and efficiencies
  • Support financial risk management and compliance
  • Prepare VAT returns and other statutory submissions

 

What you’ll need to offer…

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
  • Experience of management accounts production & variance analysis
  • Experience of payroll processing for an SME
  • Knowledge of balance sheet control account production
