Role Overview

The Inventory Control Clerk ensures accurate inventory levels and product quality by performing essential clerical functions. This role supports warehouse logistics through inventory audits, adjustments, returns/refusals processing, and documentation. You’ll help maintain an order and shipping index that consistently exceeds customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inventory counts, audits, and document results.

  • Research and resolve inventory transaction issues and exceptions.

  • Compile and retain reports and inventory records (print and electronic).

  • Identify products and check code dates in the inventory system.

  • Execute inventory reclass/transfer functions.

  • Evaluate and process driver-returned products.

  • Reconcile routes, invoices, and supporting documents.

  • Process debit/credit adjustments with accurate reason codes.

  • Move and stage pallets using material-handling equipment.

  • Support warehouse operations with clerical tasks and audits.

  • Follow safety, product handling, and food safety standards.

  • Work across environments: office, ambient, refrigerated, and frozen (0°F – 34°F).

Qualifications

Education/Training:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of inventory control or clerical work in a distribution center.

  • HACCP experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Computer literacy (MS Office, Windows apps, inventory databases).

  • Strong math, communication, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to resolve problems, analyze issues, and prioritize tasks independently.

  • Team-oriented, with the ability to support cross-department needs.

  • Certification or ability to be certified in operating Powered Industrial Trucks (Pallet Jack, Stock Picker, etc.).

Work Environment

  • Office and warehouse environments, including refrigerated and frozen areas (0°F to 34°F).

  • Must adhere to attendance and safety policies.
