About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Inventory Controller to join the team at Carrington Power Station, a 2×440 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facility near Manchester.
This is a critical role that supports plant operations through accurate inventory management, supplier liaison, and contract support. The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance and procurement teams, ensuring materials and supplies are controlled, available, and recorded correctly for the smooth running of the station.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain secure and accurate control of all physical inventory

Update and manage the computerised inventory records system

Raise replacement orders and assist maintenance staff with non-inventory items

Receive and inspect delivered goods, verifying against order specs and certifications

Issue inventory materials to support ongoing maintenance activities

Conduct regular physical stock checks and reconcile with system data

Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and complete order fulfilment

Support site staff with inventory planning and needs analysis

Uphold high standards of housekeeping, health and safety, and environmental performance
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience:

Proficiency with computerised inventory systems (issue, receipt, tracking)

Experience managing suppliers and progressing purchase orders

Strong understanding of general stores management, storage, and stock auditing

Self-starter who can work independently within a structured control framework

Confident IT skills for daily operations and reporting
Desirable:

Familiarity with power generation or similar process-based engineering industries
Qualifications

Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Reporting Line
You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager, Carrington Power Station.
