Job Summary
Mayo Clinic is seeking an Information Technology Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise cloud solutions in a multi-cloud environment. In this fully remote role, you will focus on building secure, automated, and scalable cloud infrastructure while collaborating with internal teams to integrate cloud services with existing enterprise systems. This position combines cloud engineering expertise, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and automation to enable efficient, compliant, and resilient cloud operations across Mayo Clinic’s technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain core control plane components for multi-cloud platforms, including identity, policy, networking, and orchestration layers.

Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules using Terraform to support secure, repeatable cloud deployments.

Build APIs, SDKs, and automation workflows to enable self-service provisioning and governance.

Integrate cloud-native services with centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.

Collaborate with security and compliance teams to enforce policy-as-code and cloud guardrails.

Participate in architectural reviews, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Document cloud solutions, standards, and reusable patterns for platform engineering.

Automate repetitive cloud tasks using scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience as outlined).

Demonstrated experience deploying and operating solutions on public cloud platforms.

Ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Familiarity with service design, pricing, and operational considerations for cloud-based solutions.
Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with at least two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Certification in cloud engineering within 12–24 months.

Experience building and managing control plane components such as service catalogs and policy engines.

Knowledge of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and container images.

Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, and security best practices.

Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and other IaC orchestration tools (e.g., Spacelift, Scalr).

Proficiency in CI/CD using Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, or similar platforms.

Exposure to Open Policy Agent (OPA) and secret management tools.

Background in regulated industries, especially healthcare.
Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary: $110,614 – $154,856.
