HEROIC.com is seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead and oversee IT operations for our clients in the Monterey Bay area. As an IT Operations Manager, you will ensure the smooth operation, security, and reliability of IT infrastructure, systems, and networks. This hands-on role combines technical expertise, project leadership, and client management, allowing you to shape secure, efficient, and innovative IT solutions. You will collaborate with stakeholders, mentor IT staff, and enforce best practices to align IT initiatives with business objectives while contributing to HEROIC’s mission of proactive, predictive cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities of the IT Operations Manager
Manage IT Infrastructure & Operations
As an IT Operations Manager, you will maintain and administer hundreds of computer systems, servers, and network devices. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, performing installations and imaging, managing IT assets, and overseeing day-to-day IT operations in a mixed Windows/Linux environment.
Security & Compliance Oversight
You will participate in periodic security audits, ensure systems adhere to cybersecurity best practices, and enforce compliance with HIPAA/HITECH regulations. Developing IT policies, procedures, and documentation to maintain security and data integrity is central to this role.
Team Leadership & Client Management
Lead and mentor IT support staff to ensure efficient issue resolution and high-quality service. Manage client relationships, oversee multiple projects, and act as the primary point of contact for IT-related concerns, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Required Qualifications

BS/BA Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent certifications/experience

8+ years of IT support, system administration, or related technical experience

2+ years in leadership or client management roles

Strong technical knowledge across:

Networking & enterprise infrastructure

Microsoft Windows & Linux environments

Active Directory & Office 365

Virtualization & cloud infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS)

Storage solutions & endpoint management

Service desk and cybersecurity best practices

Experience deploying and supporting cloud-based applications

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
