Job Description Summary

Akoya Biosciences is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our Information Technology team in Marlborough, MA. The successful candidate will be a member of a dynamic team that provides IT support to employees company wide.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to user queries via phone, email, or in-person regarding IT issues and provide timely and effective solutions
  • Provide end user support for software problems including operating systems, application software and productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office 365
  • Provide end user support for hardware problems with a variety of devices including but not limited to computers, printers and wireless devices
  • Configure and installing laptop and desktop computers, phones and network. Knowledge of how to image computers is required
  • Monitor and acknowledge new support requests and recording activities using the IT help desk ticketing system; determine whether the support requires immediate or planned action, involving IT team or consultants as appropriate.
  • Develop a knowledgebase to leverage problem resolutions for repetitive support issues, and to provide self-service assistance to end users
  • Manage network servers and technology tools
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • Five years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training
  • Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems is required
  • Knowledge of Virtualization using Hyper-V
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN) and patch management
  • Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and solve technical problems by applying cost effective and technical solutions
  • Service-oriented, customer-centric attitude with the ability to respond to internal customer’s requests with the appropriate level of urgency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate technology to the general employee
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or Cisco CCNA are a plus
  • Required to be Onsite min. 3 days a week.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. as well as crawl, bend, stoop, kneel as needed to work around and install equipment
