Key Responsibilities of the IT Support Specialist

In this role, the IT Support Specialist will support a global user base and help resolve a variety of technical issues while ensuring an exceptional service experience.

Your Core Duties Include:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal IT users, resolving a large percentage of issues independently.

  • Collaborate with internal IS teams and third-party vendors to deliver effective IT solutions.

  • Monitor and document system anomalies using Help Desk tools for timely resolution.

  • Manage hardware assets and maintain accurate records.

  • Order IT equipment and oversee inventory processes.

  • Onboard new hires, setting up accounts, devices, and conducting induction sessions.

Skills & Experience Required for IT Support Specialist Role

To succeed as an IT Support Specialist, you’ll bring both technical proficiency and a people-first attitude to the table.

Required Skills:

  • Degree in Computing or equivalent experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows desktops; experience with Linux and Mac systems.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop applications.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Experience with iOS, Android, A/V systems, Active Directory, and Office 365.

  • Time management and attention to detail.

  • Ability to update and maintain technical documentation.

Location & Workplace Requirements

This position is on-site and based in Edinburgh, UK. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance or willing to relocate before starting employment.
