Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive IT Support Specialist to provide technical support for staff and students while maintaining IT systems, equipment, and network security. This role involves troubleshooting hardware/software issues, managing helpdesk requests, and ensuring compliance with data integrity protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support and end-user training on hardware and software.

  • Maintain and manage the internal helpdesk system for staff support requests.

  • Document IT processes and create user-friendly guides to reduce support needs.

  • Administer and secure databases, shared drives, and Job Corps Center Information System (CIS).

  • Troubleshoot and remove unauthorized software from student computers.

  • Serve as the point of contact with the Job Corps Data Center (JCDC) for updates, upgrades, and maintenance.

  • Manage user access, ID documentation, and system security compliance.

  • Submit IT supply and equipment purchase requests as needed.

  • Protect sensitive student data and comply with security policies.

  • Promote a positive, harassment-free, and safety-conscious workplace.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 3 years of IT support experience (or equivalent education + experience).

  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and networking.

  • Experience in system/database security and maintenance.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of IT support experience.

  • Experience documenting processes and monitoring IT performance metrics.
