Position Overview
Van’s Aircraft, Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to deliver technical support for desktop systems, end-user devices, and core IT infrastructure. This role ensures employees have the tools and support needed to perform their jobs efficiently while maintaining security and compliance.
The IT Support Specialist works closely with the IT team, supports all staff daily, and reports directly to the IT Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Help Desk & User Support

Respond to, track, and resolve IT service tickets via platforms like Jira, Zendesk, FreshService, or ServiceNow

Provide on-site and remote support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals

Troubleshoot hardware, software, telephony, and small network issues

Document recurring solutions and maintain knowledge base articles
Hardware & Asset Management

Deploy, configure, and maintain end-user equipment
-
Manage IT assets with a barcode-based system (e.g., Asset Panda, Snipe-IT, ServiceNow)

Handle full hardware lifecycle: setup, upgrades, decommissioning
User Setup & Access Management

Create and configure accounts across network, email, and applications

Set up new user workstations and ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding

Maintain access rights and account security
Systems & Infrastructure Support

Support local network, Wi-Fi, and telephony systems
-
Assist with printer, VoIP, and conference room setup/troubleshooting
-
Escalate complex infrastructure issues to senior IT staff or vendors
Security & Compliance

Enforce IT governance, security policies, and compliance standards
-
Ensure devices meet antivirus, update, and access control requirements

Maintain accurate IT asset and user account records

Assist with IT audits and compliance reporting
Qualifications
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

3+ years in IT support, help desk, or desktop administration

Strong knowledge of Windows environments; MacOS/Linux familiarity a plus

Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and enterprise applications (SysPro, NetSuite, RF-Smart, Magento, ShipStation a plus)

Basic knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi) and telephony

Strong troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills
Preferred Skills

Experience with ticketing/help desk platforms (Jira, Zendesk, ServiceNow, etc.)

Knowledge of ITIL and IT service management best practices

Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)

Supporting hybrid/remote workforce environments
