Role Overview: IT Support Technician – Nottingham

As an IT Support Technician – Nottingham, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering first and second-line support for hardware, software, and AV equipment.

  • Managing and resolving technical issues both in-person and remotely.

  • Providing training and guidance on IT best practices to users.

  • Collaborating with the IT team to enhance system efficiency and user experience.Semrush

Key Responsibilities for IT Support Technician – Nottingham

  • Respond promptly to support requests, ensuring minimal disruption to university operations.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, including computers, printers, and network devices.

  • Assist in the deployment of new hardware and software solutions.

  • Document technical procedures and create user guides to facilitate self-help resources.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 2-3 or equivalent in IT or related field.

  • Proficient in Microsoft operating systems and applications.

  • Experience with ITSM ticketing systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

  • ITIL certification.

  • Technical accreditations (e.g., Microsoft MCSA, Cisco CCNA).

  • Experience with Audio Visual equipment.

  • Previous experience in the Higher Education sector.
