Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, domains, operating systems, applications, storage, and peripherals to ensure seamless IT system performance and evolution, aligning with operational requirements.

  • Monitor and manage IT infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, databases, and datacenter operations, ensuring optimal uptime and efficiency.

  • Enhance security by proactively identifying vulnerabilities, monitoring systems daily, and implementing timely upgrades and mitigations to maintain a secure network.

  • Provide frontline IT support by installing, configuring, and updating workstations, mobile devices, printers, and essential software while delivering prompt assistance to users.

  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and third-party vendors to diagnose and resolve system or application issues efficiently.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of hardware, software, licenses, and system configurations for effective tracking and management.

  • Work closely with the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) team, ensuring uninterrupted functionality and support for critical laboratory processes.

  • Drive technology advancements by researching, recommending, and implementing innovative IT solutions, including automation for system administration and maintenance tasks.

  • Develop and implement system monitoring solutions to proactively manage IT infrastructure and front-end systems.

  • Administer and enhance back-end system capabilities, optimizing performance and reliability.

  • Oversee backup systems by ensuring regular monitoring, maintenance, and testing to safeguard data in compliance with ACZ’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Provide on-call support outside business hours, working alongside the IT Manager to address critical issues as needed.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or at least 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Proven expertise in administering and troubleshooting Windows, Linux, Cisco, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, O365, Oracle databases, Veeam, Hyper-V, and LAN/WAN networks.

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and set priorities effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, fostering strong professional relationships across the organization.

  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language is beneficial but not required.
