Job Overview: Junior Accountant – Guardian (Bethlehem, PA or Pittsfield, MA | Hybrid)
Guardian is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the Individual Markets Product Finance team. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data across Guardian’s business lines and subsidiaries, including GIAC, GLIC, BLIC, and 18 Separate Accounts.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily transaction processing and mutual fund trading oversight

Review and approve journal entries and ensure timely financial close

Prepare and reconcile Statutory and GAAP financial data

Maintain compliance with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

Support new product implementations and system enhancements

Assist in audits by providing documentation for internal and external auditors
Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; recent grads welcome

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; Oracle GL a plus

Familiarity with internal controls and SOX compliance

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
