About the Role

You’ll join our Group Strategy, Innovation, and Market Analytics (SIMA) team—home to some of the sharpest minds tackling strategic questions for National Grid and industry-wide challenges. You’ll contribute to shaping the future of energy by delivering high-quality, data-driven insights on Interconnectors and Offshore Hybrid Assets.

What You’ll Do

  • Enhance and automate Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) reporting using Python, aligned with ENTSOE and Ofgem frameworks

  • Build and refine tools that support decision-making for National Grid Ventures (NGV) projects

  • Develop clean, insightful data visualisations and dashboards

  • Manage end-to-end data flows—databases, processing, reporting

  • Implement version control practices across new and existing scripts

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team and contribute to the future of clean energy

About You

We’re looking for early-career professionals—potentially recent graduates—who are passionate about analytics and the future of energy.

Ideal Candidate Has:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a STEM subject

  • Experience coding in Python and interest in energy markets (GB & EU)

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Understanding of tools such as SQL, Power BI, SnowFlake, and GitHub (a plus, not mandatory)

  • Curiosity, motivation, and a team-first mindset

What You’ll Get

  • Salary: Circa £39,000 – £43,000, depending on experience and location

  • Contract: 6-month fixed term

  • Work Type: Hybrid/flexible (office-based as needed)

  • Location: NG House, Warwick
