Overview

We are inviting applications for a Junior Clinical Research Fellow in Spinal Surgery, based across two leading hospitals in Cardiff: the University Hospital of Wales and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital.

This is a non-training post (no National Training Number) offering hands-on clinical experience and active involvement in spinal research. You’ll work alongside senior spinal fellows and nine experienced consultants covering a full range of spinal conditions—from degenerative spine disease to complex paediatric scoliosis.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing elective and trauma spinal patients

  • Support senior fellows in theatres and clinics

  • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs)

  • Contribute to spinal research projects and clinical audits

  • Help with day-to-day ward cover and patient care
