What You’ll Be Doing

  • Analyze daily and weekly sales trends, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and collaborate with the Buying and Merchandising (B&M) teams to implement changes that drive sales growth.
  • Work with Assistant Merchandisers to execute actions that boost sales.
  • Monitor live sales data to spot fast-selling items and provide feedback to B&M to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Identify underperforming products and categories, and propose strategies to the Senior Merchandiser/Trading Manager to improve sales.
  • Regularly review the full product range to ensure all relevant products are live and properly showcased on the site.
  • Evaluate product attributes to optimize site navigation, filters, and customer journeys for higher conversion rates.
  • Monitor pricing across outdoor websites to ensure the pricing strategy is consistent and alert the B&M team of any discrepancies.
  • Review the website’s visual merchandising (VM) and suggest improvements to maximize sales using ranking blends and manual pins.
  • Collaborate with B&M teams to prioritize seasonal sales drivers, ensuring alignment with the Assistant Merchandisers and content teams on key priorities.
  • Support the Senior Multi-Channel Merchandiser in analyzing product and brand performance trends within categories to shape trading plans.
  • Ensure all on-site promotions are set up correctly, monitor their performance, and identify any issues.
  • Compare store vs. web sales weekly to identify online sales gaps and assess site presentation for maximum revenue potential.
  • Train new team members and support their long-term growth and development.

Teamwork

  • Reports to the Senior Multi-Channel Merchandiser.
  • Build strong working relationships with divisional Buying and Merchandising teams, as well as the Multi-Channel and Marketing teams.
  • Lead and support an Assistant Merchandiser.

Key Deliverables

  • Assist the Senior Multi-Channel Merchandiser in driving channel sales and meeting targets.
  • Apply best practices consistently.
  • Build and nurture relationships with the B&M team.
  • Identify sales opportunities and competitor threats.
  • Become proficient in using online tools and systems such as Aurora Commerce, Google Analytics, and Looker.
