About the Role:

As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving the company’s success by developing and executing strategic account initiatives, managing HQ-level relationships and driving store-level engagement that enhances brand visibility. You will be responsible for driving sales and fostering strong partnerships with West Coast Retail partners. You will work closely with members of both the Key Account and Distribution teams to develop and execute long-term plans that support the company’s growth objectives, as well as develop regional goals and implementation of account strategy. You will be responsible for managing regional accounts to ensure that the products are marketed efficiently and effectively through our customer base and to our end consumers and ensuring it is positioned for long-term growth.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience in CPG Beverage Sales, Distributor Management, and Account Management, as well as a proven track record of strategy development. Additionally, you will have a strong understanding of both retail and DSD beverage route-to-market.

You will be responsible for:

  • Owning and hitting/exceeding annual sales targets.
  • Implementing and actively taking part in the development of a comprehensive account strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives and goals.
  • Establishing key relationships, brand embracement, and loyal partnerships with key customers, including retailers, wholesalers, and distributors to ensure full coverage and comprehensive sales penetration to maximize performance.
  • Analyzing market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and new business development.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, inventory management, and delivery to distributor/retail partners.
  • Identifying potential customers, new business opportunities and developing strategies to increase sales and revenue.
  • Ensuring our brand is accurately represented in all facets, from sales leads to existing customers.
  • Forecasting quarterly and annual profits within the book of business.
  • Identify hiring needs, selecting and training new salespeople.
  • Addressing critical problems and suggesting prompt solutions.
  • Collaborating with other departments such as marketing, product development, and customer service to ensure a cohesive strategy.
  • Monitoring and reporting on sales performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain a consistent travel schedule to ensure effective face-to-face meetings and strong relationships.
  • Ensure timely submission of administrative paperwork on behalf of customers.
  • Ad hoc tasks as required.

About You:

  • You come with 8-10+ years of multi-state experience in key account management or sales in the beverage industry calling on HQ accounts and partnering at the executive level.
  • Experience in the energy drink segment is highly preferred.
  • You actively have retail relationships with West Coast local, regional, and national retailers such as; Albertsons, Kroger banners(Ralphs, Fred Meyer, etc), Extra Mile. Quik Trip and many others.
  • You own a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, and/or a related field.
  • You have a proven track record of successfully managing and developing teams.
  • You operate with a strong understanding of 5P execution and strategy development.
  • You are experienced with syndicated data, preferably SPINs and IRI.
  • You excel in organizational, time-management, and leadership skills.
  • You bring a growth mindset with the ability to always search for more opportunities.
  • You are proficient at building selling stories and translating data into actionable strategies.
