The Role

We’re looking for a Key Account Manager to join our retail team. You’ll play a vital role in managing existing accounts, driving growth, and ensuring the success of key projects.

In this role, you’ll also oversee key client relationships within our retail segment. Reporting to the Director of Retail Sales, you will manage account profitability, plan for strategic growth, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to bring ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Relations: Serve as the primary contact for clients’ buying teams, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Growth Initiatives: Lead sales strategies and identify new opportunities with customers and suppliers.
  • Project Management: Oversee new product launches, manage timelines, and coordinate with various departments.
  • Performance Monitoring: Provide regular account performance reports, including insights on inventory, demand, and contract statuses.
  • Profitability Analysis: Review profit and loss reports, identify improvement areas, and work towards maximising efficiency.
  • Strategic Oversight: Monitor and evaluate account performance, addressing challenges proactively to meet objectives.
  • Bids: Being the main point of contact for our customers’ buying teams concerning bids for
  • current and new business opportunities.

The Person

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
  • A proactive and strategic approach to account management.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in account management, ideally in the food, manufacturing, or private-label industries.
  • A degree in business or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in project management and team leadership (an asset).
