Overview
TekSynap is seeking a LAN/WLAN Electronics Technician to support the DHA LAN/WLAN Modernization Program. This program provides engineering, design, procurement, installation, and modernization services for LAN/WLAN infrastructure at Military Treatment Facilities and associated medical facilities both CONUS and OCONUS.
As part of our team, you’ll support the U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command (Fort Detrick Engineering Directorate) in delivering secure, modernized, and reliable network solutions.
Responsibilities

Support network engineering activities for LANs and WLANs under the guidance of a Network Engineer

Apply knowledge of LAN/WLAN engineering principles and computer technologies

Support LAN/WLAN modernization surveys and designs, including OEM hardware (Aruba, Ruckus, Juniper, Cisco) for redundancy, capacity, and device placement

Perform cost analysis using historical government data and create comparison estimates with recommendations

Configure and install routers, switches, controllers, and access points
-
Assist with VLAN subnet IP migrations and Campus Area Network implementation

Ensure cybersecurity compliance for all deployed components

Develop Implementation Plans, List of Materials, and related project documentation

Mentor junior staff and support knowledge transfer as needed
Required Qualifications

Active Secret Clearance (required)
-
US Citizenship (required)
-
Certifications (one required):
-
Cisco CCNA (CCNA-Security preferred)
-
Juniper JNCIA (preferred)
-
Ruckus Certification
-
-
IAT Level II certification required, such as: Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, CND, or GICSP
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Electronics Engineering (or closely related field)

10+ years of LAN/WLAN survey, design, and implementation experience

Minimum 2 years of technical training

Passport preferred (due to OCONUS travel requirements)
Work Environment & Travel
-
Location: Must reside in an approved hiring state within the U.S. (full list available below)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, day shift (occasional evenings/weekends for program needs)

Travel: 60–75%, both CONUS & OCONUS

Environment: Office, Remote, and Field settings

Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, kneel, crawl, and work in varied conditions
