Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) is a national organization within NHS Wales, dedicated to delivering digital and data services that enhance health and social care across the nation. We manage over 100 services and lead significant digital transformation programs, providing frontline staff with essential tools for safer, more efficient care, and empowering patients with digital solutions for better health management.

 Your Role as Lead Cloud Security Architect

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and Implement: Design, implement, and continuously improve cloud security architectures across multiple projects.

  • Strategic Leadership: Act as the primary security authority, offering strategic advice to senior stakeholders and mentoring security professionals.

  • Policy Development: Develop security strategies, standards, and guidelines aligned with organizational goals.

  • Risk Management: Conduct security assessments, lead risk management activities, and devise mitigation strategies for complex challenges.

  • Technical Design: Lead the technical design of secure systems, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.

  • Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging security trends to enhance our security posture.

 Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

  • Industry-recognized qualification in cloud security architecture.

  • Experience reviewing security configurations within large, complex IT service delivery programs.

  • Proven ability to define and design cybersecurity requirements aligned with organizational objectives.

Desirable

  • Chartered IT Professional (CITP) or equivalent professional registration.

  • FEDIP Practitioner or equivalent recognized intermediate professional qualification.

  • Ability to evaluate emerging security technologies.

  • Strong understanding of human factors in security and their impact on digital adoption.

  • Capability to align security initiatives with business goals for measurable improvements.
