Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Contract Role

Inside IR35 | 9-Month Initial Contract | £625 PD | Hybrid (London/Manchester/Bristol)

We are seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to support the setup and management of cloud technologies, build a scalable network environment, and enhance the security and efficiency of cloud-based data services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and manage cloud technologies for CDDO data services, implementing new solutions as needed.
  • Lead an infrastructure team, ensuring a robust and scalable network environment for CDDO product teams.
  • Enhance the security of cloud services by implementing best practices, including least privilege access, encryption, and isolated networks.
  • Develop, document, and maintain automation scripts for data manipulation and tool development.
  • Manage patching and system configurations to maintain security and stability.
  • Improve and integrate existing processing systems for increased efficiency and performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Linux/Unix system administration experience, including deploying new services in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Shell scripting, JavaScript, Node.js, Perl, Python) for automation and data processing.
  • Expertise in AWS cloud services, including EKS, ELK, Cognito, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, Glue, Systems Manager, API Gateway, and Lambda.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline development using GitHub and AWS DevOps tools.
  • Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly using Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and deployment strategies.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security best practices (least privilege access, encryption, and network isolation).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their role in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, HTTP, CDN, Load Balancing, VPN, Kubernetes Network Policies).
  • Experience in protective monitoring, including the design, implementation, and operation of monitoring solutions for secure and highly available services.
  • Proven ability to work with open-source technologies, implementing and managing them effectively.
