About the Role
The Lead Network Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting complex network infrastructures that power SS&C’s global operations. You will lead critical projects, develop automation tools, evaluate emerging technologies, and provide technical mentorship to peers while ensuring optimal network performance, reliability, and security.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the automation, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex network issues.

Evaluate vendor products, conduct technical studies, and recommend strategic investments in network technologies.

Develop and maintain automation frameworks, methodologies, and security best practices.

Design detailed technical documentation supporting high-level business solutions.

Lead peer design reviews and mentor other engineers in planning, design, and architecture.

Manage implementations of WAN connectivity solutions, routing, switching, and network virtualization technologies.
Required Qualifications
-
8–10 years of experience in network engineering within large data center environments.

Strong expertise in WAN connectivity (Ethernet over MPLS, Site-to-Site VPN).

Hands-on experience with routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP) and switching technologies (STP, VPC, FabricPath).

Proficiency with routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, DNS, load balancing, and proxy technologies (Arista, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, etc.).

Familiarity with NFV, ESXi, SDN, and SD-WAN solutions.

Scripting skills in Python, Perl, or other automation tools.

Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

SIP installation/support experience is a plus.
