About the Role
We’re looking for passionate and experienced Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team at Oakfield House School, part of Options Autism. You will play a key role in supporting our teachers and pupils in a creative and inclusive environment.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll help deliver engaging lessons tailored to children with autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs. You’ll support both 1:1 and small group activities, help prepare classrooms and resources, and contribute to an environment that promotes pupil achievement, wellbeing, and development.
This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in SEN/ASC settings or someone from a customer-facing background (retail, hospitality, etc.) looking to make a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities

Support pupils’ learning in class and during individual or small group activities

Prepare classrooms, resources, and materials

Build trusting relationships with pupils and staff

Promote positive behaviour and interaction

Assist in the delivery of creative and tailored learning experiences

Contribute to a strong safeguarding culture
What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children, ideally in SEN or ASC settings

GCSEs (Grade C/4+) in English and Maths
-
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
-
Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach

Motivation to make a difference to pupils’ lives

Ability to work independently and collaboratively
About Oakfield House School
Oakfield House is a specialist independent primary school for children aged 4–12 with Autism Spectrum Conditions, learning difficulties, and complex communication needs. Set in a beautiful 1880s country house on eight acres of parkland in Salwick, near Preston, we support up to 45 pupils with tailored education and care.
