About the Role
Are you passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives? We’re seeking a compassionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist school dedicated to supporting pupils aged 4–19 with diverse and complex additional needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and emotional or medical conditions.
As an LSA, you’ll work collaboratively with experienced teaching and therapy teams to help students overcome barriers to learning. This includes supporting pupils in both 1:1 and small group settings, facilitating learning activities, encouraging emotional regulation, and promoting independence throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored classroom and personal support to pupils with a variety of special educational needs (SEN)

Assist with daily learning activities, including adapted curriculum delivery

Offer behaviour regulation support and emotional encouragement

Support with personal care where required

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and senior staff to deliver pupil-specific strategies

Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all students

Monitor progress and contribute to pupil development reviews
Who We’re Looking For
This role suits candidates with experience in SEND education, care, mental health, youth work, or related support services. Whether you’re a qualified Teaching Assistant or transitioning from another support-based role, your empathy, patience, and ability to build trusting relationships with children are what matter most.

Qualification in Health and Social Care, Psychology, Education, or a related field (preferred but not essential)

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
