Learning Support Assistant (SW16)

Are you passionate about helping children succeed in their learning journey? We are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant (SW16) to join a primary school in Lambeth. As a Learning Support Assistant (SW16), you will work on a daily supply basis to support students aged 5-7, providing valuable one-on-one assistance and contributing to a positive classroom environment. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on young learners’ academic, social, and emotional growth.

Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant (SW16):

  • Provide 1:1 support to students within the classroom to help them achieve academic goals

  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored educational plans

  • Support classroom management and help maintain a positive learning atmosphere

  • Foster students’ social and emotional development

  • Adjust teaching methods to suit the individual needs of each student

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher

  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to enhance the learning experience

Key Requirements for the Learning Support Assistant (SW16):

  • Previous experience working 1:1 with students in a classroom setting

  • Experience with children aged 5-7

  • A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a team

  • Flexible and adaptable to varying teaching styles and needs
