Position Overview
Mayo Clinic is seeking a full-time Librarian I to join the Venables Library in Rochester, Minnesota. This entry-level health sciences librarian role provides the opportunity to:

Support the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences and other Mayo Clinic Schools in Rochester

Collaborate with faculty on collection development, instructional sessions, and research support

Deliver library orientations and teaching sessions across academic programs
-
Contribute to system-wide initiatives such as literature searching and special projects
The Librarian I is independently responsible for daily operations at the Venables Library, while benefiting from the collaborative resources of the Mayo Clinic Libraries system.
Key Responsibilities

Provide reference, research, and educational services for students, faculty, staff, and patients

Manage technical services such as acquisitions, cataloging, serials, and database access

Support instructional programs through library orientations and teaching

Perform literature searches and contribute to special projects

Participate in library committees, audits, and quality assessments

Oversee library operations in the absence of a supervisor
Qualifications
Required:
-
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited program
-
Some library experience (health sciences or research setting preferred)
Preferred:
-
Knowledge of leadership, management, informatics, information analysis, and instruction

Membership in the Medical Library Association’s Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) at the Provisional level

Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
Work Authorization:
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Mayo Clinic does not provide sponsorships and does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Compensation & Schedule

💰 Salary Range: $55,556 – $82,825 per year

🕒 Hours: 80 per pay period (full-time, day shift; occasional weekend coverage as needed)
