Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Children’s Services Department by planning, coordinating, and supervising programs.

• Develop and manage collections, ensuring materials support literacy and learning.

• Represent the Library at community events including PTA functions, Earth Day, and Farmers Market outreach.

• Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate full-time and part-time staff.

• Manage program budgets, recommend acquisitions, and provide direct support to patrons.

• Actively participate in library activities, including occasional Sunday and evening shifts.

Desired Qualifications

• Education: Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from an accredited university.

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional library experience in a public library, with strong background in children’s programming, early literacy, and community engagement.

• Supervisory or leadership experience in a library setting preferred.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
