Position Overview
ABC Unified School District is seeking a proactive and resourceful School Library Technician / Media Specialist to support daily library operations, encourage student engagement in reading, and assist faculty and students with accessing academic and digital resources. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about education.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:

Assess and fulfill the informational needs of students and staff

Develop and lead reading programs to boost student interest

Assist students in using citation tools and research strategies
-
Promote online research databases and digital applications
-
Organize books, films, magazines, and equipment in the library
-
Collaborate with IT staff to troubleshoot and repair library computer systems
-
Compile lists of overdue materials and coordinate returns
-
Operate and assist with classroom and office equipment
-
Manage the schedule and use of the library computer lab
-
Communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and community agencies
-
Attend required district trainings and meetings
-
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Follow all district policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
-
Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a school, library, or related setting
-
Familiarity with research databases, digital tools, and citation practices
-
Strong communication and organizational skills
-
Technological proficiency and troubleshooting ability
Eligibility Requirements

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (USA)
-
Must pass required background checks per district policy
-
Bilingual skills (English + another language) are preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits

Monthly Salary: $3,693 – $4,717.50
