Position Summary:
Heritage Medical Associates is seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusionist to provide high-quality care in a dynamic clinical setting. As part of our commitment to patient-centered care, the infusionist will be responsible for coordinating treatments, administering medications, and ensuring patient safety during infusion procedures. The role also includes preparing and maintaining the infusion environment, as well as documenting patient responses and actions.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Administer medication through IV, monitor patient during infusion, and ensure safety and comfort. Perform IV access and provide teaching on medications.

Documentation: Maintain accurate patient charts, document medications administered, vital signs, and patient responses.

Pre- and Post-Infusion Tasks: Obtain prior authorizations, handle patient scheduling, and prepare medications and infusion supplies in advance. Administer other medications (IM, SQ, intradermal injections, and O2) as needed.

Infection Control: Follow clinic policies for infection control, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and ensure sterilization processes are followed.

Collaboration: Keep the physician informed of any changes in patient status, assist with complex procedures, and ensure timely communication with the healthcare team.

Patient Education: Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medication usage, and aftercare instructions.
Secondary Responsibilities:

Perform tasks such as collecting specimens, preparing patients for procedures, scheduling follow-up appointments, and assisting physicians during patient care.

Support in maintaining lab and biopsy specimen records, and participate in patient education and discharge instructions.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role does not involve supervisory duties.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience: Graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold a valid RN or LPN license. IV certification is preferred.

Skills: Knowledge of patient care, clinical procedures, and safety protocols. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, assist with patient transfers, and lift up to 15 lbs.
Work Environment:

Clinical setting with exposure to medical conditions and infectious materials. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
