Licensed Practical Nurse Core Responsibilities

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, your daily duties include:

  • Assisting physicians during exams and treatments.

  • Administering medications, operating pill call, and documenting accurately.

  • Monitoring patient health, reporting critical changes, and responding to emergencies.

  • Maintaining secure control of medications, syringes, and medical supplies.

  • Supporting compliance with NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO accreditation standards.

  • Preparing reports, medical files, and safety documentation.

  • Observing inmate behavior and helping prevent unsafe or disruptive incidents.
