Licensed Practical Nurse
This role primarily involves delivering school health services to students attending the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
The incumbent must be capable of performing the essential duties below, with or without reasonable accommodations, while working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and coordinate health screenings for students.

Develop and implement specialized health care procedures.

Provide training on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection control, medication administration, CPR, and other in-services as needed.

Administer medications and perform health care procedures as prescribed by physicians.

Follow proper nursing protocols and maintain accurate documentation.

Utilize community health resources when appropriate.

Participate in staffing and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to provide information regarding students’ health and physical needs as requested.

Oversee the completion of all Student Health Care Plans (SHCP), ensuring accuracy, proper supplies, and notifying parents if additional resources are required.

Use each student’s individual communication system effectively.

Take a leadership role in creating and executing a comprehensive school health plan.

Complete required reports accurately and on time.

Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, using proper grammar and consistent thought.

Work collaboratively with building administrators to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment.

Maintain CPR instructor certification and basic CPR certification.

Protect the confidentiality of student, parent, and staff information in accordance with privacy standards.

Utilize Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet resources for job functions.

Travel between sites as necessary.

Assist students with daily self-care activities such as diapering, feeding, handwashing, and tooth brushing.

Lift and move up to 50 pounds, including assisting students with repositioning.

Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain current nursing skills.

Occasionally travel for training and staff meetings.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in Missouri.

Experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Must hold a professional nursing license as required by state law.
