Job Description

Prepare, season, and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrées, and desserts, while adhering to recipes and portion guidelines.

Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, fryers, and slicers.

Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.

Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.

Assist with receiving, organizing, and properly storing kitchen inventory and supplies.

Monitor food quality and freshness to ensure all ingredients meet company standards.

Maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to detail.

Follow all health and safety regulations, including the proper handling of knives and kitchen equipment.
Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience as a line cook or in a similar role within a fast-paced, professional kitchen (experience requirements may vary by establishment).

Proficiency in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment operation.

Familiarity with specific cuisines or menu items may be required based on the restaurant’s concept.

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or coursework is preferred but not mandatory.

Food Handler’s Certification is preferred and may be required upon hire, depending on local regulations.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines, such as ServSafe certification, is a plus.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Understanding of proper usage of kitchen equipment, including stoves, refrigeration units, slicers, and knives.
