About the Role
Alpha School is looking for an exceptional Literacy Coach / Reading Specialist to help scale our groundbreaking 2-Hour Learning model. In this role, you’ll go beyond traditional teaching—you’ll design, deliver, and optimize an AI-enhanced reading program that enables students to achieve rapid, measurable literacy progress.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver adaptive reading workshops focused on phonics, comprehension, and fluency.

Design motivational sessions using gamified literacy milestones to boost engagement.

Analyze student data to refine instruction and provide actionable insights.

Collaborate with engineers to improve AI-powered literacy tools.

Develop scalable reading pathways for diverse learners.
What You Won’t Be Doing

Following rigid, scripted curricula.

Spending hours on grading, lesson planning, or admin tasks.

Managing overcrowded classrooms.

Teaching in isolation without input into program or product design.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree + advanced certification in reading instruction (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent).

2+ years of small-group reading intervention experience with early elementary students.

Skilled in assessing reading levels and differentiating instruction.

Proficiency with AI/adaptive learning tools.

U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship available).

Willingness to work on-site at one of Alpha’s campuses.
