Role Overview

The Localization Editor ensures that IXL’s content for the Australian edition is linguistically correct, culturally relevant, and grade-appropriate across language arts, math, and science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and adapt content for Australian English conventions (spelling, punctuation, grammar, terminology).

  • Ensure cultural relevance for Australian students, avoiding US-centric content.

  • Adhere to IXL style guide specifications.

  • Check grade-level appropriateness of learning content.

  • Respond to queries related to Australian English and cultural conventions.

  • Maintain overall quality and consistency across language arts, math, and science content.

Required Experience & Skills

  • BA/BS degree and prior editing experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Australian English linguistic conventions.

  • Superior writing and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with style manuals (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style).

  • Understanding of Australian culture and primary/secondary student reading levels.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Docs and Sheets.

  • Experience or interest in the Australian education system and/or math, science, or English language arts is a plus.
