Job Summary

We are currently recruiting an experienced Locum Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to support service delivery across various NHS Trusts. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a flexible, high-paced environment, delivering care across antenatal, labour ward, gynaecology theatre, and outpatient services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care across inpatient, outpatient, maternity, and emergency settings under consultant supervision

  • Participate in ward rounds, antenatal and gynaecology clinics, theatre sessions, and emergency admissions

  • Cover labour ward duties including delivery suite management

  • Assist and support elective and emergency gynaecological surgery

  • Supervise and support junior doctors and midwives

  • Contribute to audits, clinical governance, and maintain accurate documentation

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-focused care

  • Participate in on-call rota (nights, weekends, and evenings)

Requirements

Essential:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree

  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise

  • Valid CEL (Certificate of Eligibility for Locum Work)

  • Minimum 4 years post-graduate experience, including 2 years in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

  • ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification

  • Recent UK (preferably NHS) experience

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Strong communication and team-working skills

Desirable:

  • MRCOG Part 1 or 2

  • Recent labour ward and obstetric emergency experience

  • Completion of NHS mandatory e-learning modules (e.g. Safeguarding, Infection Control)
