What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with the Holcim logistics team to secure rate quotes and establish shipment schedules across multiple transportation modes.
  • Partner with plant teams and supply chain stakeholders to ensure the steady supply of Alternative Raw Materials (ARMs).
  • Work closely with cement plants to create market-driven ARM solutions, prioritizing operational efficiency and sustainability.
  • Manage ARM inventory by aligning plant consumption plans with delivery schedules to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Track consumption and delivery volumes to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, while evaluating ARM substitution benefits to enhance plant performance.
  • Oversee and coordinate subcontracted activities related to ARM supply, including unloading and storage operations supported by third parties at plant sites.
  • Monitor preprocessing and blending operations conducted by third parties and ensure strict adherence to QA/QC standards to maintain material quality.
  • Collaborate with plant management to update and implement Standard Operating Procedures governing ARM supply and usage.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving shipment issues and ensuring a seamless customer experience, including managing shipping schedules, expediting shipments, and addressing inventory challenges through corrective actions.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to enhance supply chain and logistics efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain weekly and monthly KPIs to track logistics performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support financial processes including invoice reconciliation, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Manage the purchase order process in coordination with plant and procurement teams to ensure timely creation, tracking, and payment.
  • Participate in contract negotiations with transportation service providers to secure competitive rates and favorable terms.

Key Relationships

  • Act as a liaison between plants and internal teams to execute production and delivery plans efficiently.
  • Coordinate closely with transportation providers, supplier management, and cross-functional teams to resolve inventory and delivery concerns.
  • Partner monthly with Sales on trucking payment and billing matters.
  • Engage regularly with the Logistics organization to ensure accurate carrier setup and payment processing.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with NABS to ensure carriers are set up correctly and payments are processed smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant logistics experience, ideally in the construction or trucking industry, with working knowledge of rail and barge operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, especially in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Transportation, or related fields.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong team orientation with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, professional environment.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication to provide clear instructions, explain procedures, and train team members.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and reporting systems.
  • Solid mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate ratios and percentages for operational reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a track record of identifying and resolving operational challenges.
  • Commitment to following all safety guidelines and the proper use of Holcim-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators where required. Employees subject to respirator use must comply with fit-test requirements, including being clean-shaven where necessary.
