DSV are recruiting for a Logistics Co-ordinator in Prestwick. This role will meet customers’ requirements for the safe and efficient transport of their cargo effectively in accordance with company operational procedures and statutory requirements including Health & Safety to the satisfaction of clients and the profit of the company.
The successful candidate will be reliable, possess good time management and communication skills and work well under pressure.
Key Tasks
- Expediting – Liaise with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Communicate with the warehouse regarding all aspects of outgoing workflow
- Ensure successful planning and completion of shipments through communication with client and operations department.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Collaborate with UK and international DSV/Agent offices, addressing discrepancies and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures, including health and safety standards.
- Arrange transport with hauliers, confirm equipment availability, and negotiate pricing for cost efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Adhere to HMRC regulations and statutory requirements.
- Prepare documentation (e.g., Aviation Security Certs), label freight, and organize collections with hauliers.
- Negotiate supplier pricing and liaise with client personnel, from engineers to senior management.
- Provide keyholder access at offsite premises as needed.
Skills and Competencies
- Relevant forwarding qualification.
- 2 years’ related experience.
- 4 GCSEs or equivalent.
- Proficiency in administration, CargoWise 1, & planning.
- Financial, interpersonal, communication, time management and computer skills.
- Awareness of health & safety and Aviation Security (Airfreight Export).
- Experience with Dangerous Goods
- Experience with Goods Dispatch, working with client logistics staff to ensure timely dispatch.
