Job Description
We are looking for a Maintenance Helper / FGT Labourer to join our Mechanical Maintenance team at the Edmonton EcoPark in North London. As a Maintenance Helper / FGT Labourer, you’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining plant equipment, facilities, and infrastructure to support the safe and efficient operation of one of the UK’s largest energy-from-waste facilities. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with a competitive salary of £34,196.98 + 30% shift allowance.
Key Responsibilities – Maintenance Helper / FGT Labourer

Assist Mechanical Technicians with routine maintenance and servicing of machinery and plant systems.

Conduct light mechanical tasks such as pipework repairs, flange tightening, and lubrication duties.

Handle APCR-related duties and support planned maintenance during plant outages.

Perform cleaning, hosing, sweeping, and general upkeep using both manual and mechanical equipment.

Operate forklifts, cranes, and mobile plant as required; maintain and document workshop tools and gear.

Serve as cover for Technicians and Operators during absences and urgent callouts.
Requirements – Maintenance Helper / FGT Labourer

Background in mechanical or heavy industry preferred; comfortable using industrial cleaning tools and small machinery.

Physically capable of working at heights and in confined spaces with strict safety adherence.

Strong team player with the motivation to complete tasks independently and with care.

Must be flexible for 12-hour staggered shifts, weekends, nights, and on-call duties.

Basic literacy and numeracy essential for system use and written documentation.

Full UK driving licence is a plus.
