Maintenance Technician (Electrical)

About the Role

Join our established, multi-functional maintenance team at Thermae Bath Spa, Britain’s only natural thermal spa, and The Gainsborough Bath Spa, a luxurious 5-star hotel. We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to help maintain our technically advanced facilities, including an array of electrical, mechanical, and ICA assets.

You’ll be working across two of Bath’s most iconic and sophisticated properties, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and technical performance in a role that offers both variety and growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance across both Thermae Bath Spa and The Gainsborough Bath Spa

• Operate and monitor daily functions of plant rooms and essential electrical systems

• Respond to plant and system breakdowns swiftly and effectively

• Assist in planned improvements, installations, and asset replacements

• Supervise and coordinate with contractors, ensuring health and safety compliance

• Join an on-call rota for out-of-hours support (Monday to Sunday)

Candidate Requirements

We’re looking for an experienced and qualified professional who:

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Electrical background with Level 3+ qualifications

• 18th Edition certification

• Knowledge of:

  • PLCs and control wiring

  • Instrumentation and AC drives

  • Transformers, motors, battery systems, and CHP units

• Experience across domestic, commercial, and industrial systems

• Strong understanding of RAMS, HASAWA, and EAWR legislation

• Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems independently

Desirable:

• CG 2391/2392 qualifications

• Mechanical maintenance knowledge (pipework, valves, pumps)

• Experience with water treatment and chemical dosing systems

• Previous experience in spa, pool, or hotel maintenance is advantageous
