About the Role

UPP is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Technician (Electrical) to join our Loughborough team. This permanent, full-time position is ideal for an experienced technician with both electrical and mechanical skills, looking to contribute to a high-quality residential maintenance service.

As part of our dedicated team, you’ll perform a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring electrical systems across our student residences are safe, compliant, and functioning to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Planned & Reactive Maintenance

  • Perform repairs in a safe manner, assessing Health & Safety risks before starting work

  • Respond to reactive maintenance needs under agreed service levels

  • Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules

  • Maintain detailed records of breakdowns, repairs, and statutory compliance

  • Work collaboratively with subcontractors when required

Statutory Testing

  • Carry out PAT testing, fire alarm testing, fire door checks, and other safety tests

Health & Safety

  • Immediately report any H&S concerns or hazards within the residences

  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and internal standards

Other Duties

  • Support colleagues across other trades and locations

  • Participate in an on-call rota, especially during student arrivals/departures

  • Take part in ongoing training and development

  • Carry out other tasks aligned with the scope of the role

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance

  • Knowledge of PPM systems, compliance standards, and health & safety regulations

  • Willingness to undergo employment referencing and basic DBS checks

  • Flexibility to work additional hours during peak times

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
