Make a Difference as a Maintenance Worker at RSPCA
We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Worker to join our dedicated team at the RSPCA Animal Centre. In this essential role, you’ll help maintain the safety and upkeep of our 100-acre site, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for our animals, staff, and visitors. As a Maintenance Worker, you’ll be responsible for carrying out routine repairs, groundskeeping, and maintenance tasks across the centre.
You’ll work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:15 am to 4:15 pm. Face-to-face interviews will take place on 15th May — don’t miss your chance to be part of a passionate team that makes a real difference every day!

Key Responsibilities for a Maintenance Worker

Maintain gardens and grounds to high standards

Perform routine maintenance on buildings, equipment, and animal enclosures

Test and maintain security and fire alarm systems

Support animal care teams with handling, transport, and safety tasks

Oversee external contractors’ work

Complete risk assessments as needed
What We’re Looking for in a Maintenance Worker

Previous maintenance or groundskeeping experience

Skilled in using a wide range of hand and power tools

Good communication and teamwork abilities

Full, valid UK driving licence

Able to manage tasks independently and under pressure

Comfortable working around animals
