About the Opportunity: Accounting Lead – London
WeWork is seeking an Accounting Lead to join our team at our London HQ. This role leads month-end accounting tasks and reporting processes for the region. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will manage the US GAAP month-end close process and various ad-hoc tasks, from supporting statutory audits to driving process improvements. WeWork’s dynamic environment requires a self-starter who can adapt quickly to evolving organizational and team needs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and ensure timely completion of month-end close tasks.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, analyze variances, and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with business operations and technology teams to ensure accurate and consistent OPEX accrual and reporting.
- Analyze aged accruals monthly.
- Review tasks performed by Accenture (our third-party accounting team) and provide training as needed.
- Analyze the Income Statement and Balance Sheet, providing comprehensive variance analysis.
- Support regional audits.
- Drive continuous process improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Newly qualified or finalist (ACCA/CIMA) with at least 2 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with Workday is a plus.
