Job Description
This position oversees the financial development and maintenance of uniform costs for UF/IFAS Research and Education Centers (RECs), sites, and other research locations that rebill crop charges (UFarm). The scope may expand into other billable aspects, such as controlled growth environments and animal research facilities (greenhouses, dairy, beef research farms, etc.).
The Manager, Finance will:

Ensure compliance with federal regulations (2 CFR 200).

Manage billing and accounts receivable in UFarm.

Train and support REC Directors, Farm Managers, and fiscal staff.

Collaborate with the Controller’s Office, Enterprise Systems, Contracts & Grants, and UF/IFAS leadership.

Lead annual rate refresh/review for UFarm Fee-for-Service Educational Activity (FSEA) across 14+ locations and 100+ agricultural commodities.

Supervise Accountant I (billing/AR) and Financial Analyst III (cost analysis/rate development).

Communicate financial updates to stakeholders and maintain training resources.

Work with IT teams to improve UFarm dashboards, billing software, and reporting systems.

Drive continuous improvements in financial modeling, costing, and efficiency.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Six (6) years of relevant experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree.

Experience developing, establishing, and maintaining multiple rates at a land-grant institution.

Prior experience in billing and collections.
