Position Summary
The Manager of People is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the People Department, providing leadership and guidance to the team while supporting the Director of People across a wide range of human resource functions and resort initiatives. This role serves as a hands-on business partner, helping to align HR strategies with organizational goals and fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive mindset, strong mentoring abilities, and a collaborative spirit to support company objectives and uphold core values.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day activities within the People Department, ensuring smooth and effective operations.

Provide consistent training, support, and development to the People Department team.

Cultivate professional yet approachable relationships with team members and associates at all levels.

Manage associate relations documentation and conduct workplace investigations in coordination with the Director of People.

Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive HR information and maintain compliance with company policies and employment laws.

Administer employee benefits and manage leave of absence cases (ADA, FMLA, USERRA, personal leave, etc.), including all required documentation.

Plan and coordinate associate recognition programs on a quarterly basis in collaboration with the People Team.

Serve as a lead trainer during new hire orientations and actively participate in onboarding programs.

Communicate clearly and effectively to coach, guide, and support associates and managers across departments.

Utilize human resource information systems (HRIS) for accurate data management and to generate payroll and benefits reports.

Attend and participate in weekly leadership meetings; may be required to deliver presentations.

Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook—with daily use across functions.
Qualifications

4–6 years of progressive HR experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent: 2 years of HR work experience per 1 year of education).

Broad HR expertise spanning employee relations, benefits and compensation, compliance, training, and recruitment.

Proven experience in handling complex employee relations issues, including investigations, coaching, and dispute resolution.

PHR/SPHR certification or a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.

Experience in the luxury hospitality industry is highly desirable.

Familiarity with Workday HRIS is a plus.

Willingness to travel as needed.
Compensation
-
Salary Range: $68,500 to $86,000
This represents the expected base pay for the position, exclusive of other forms of incentive compensation such as bonuses, commissions, or gratuities.
