WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week, Day Shift
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mix and apply base coat plaster over lathe or any other type surface to which plaster will adhere; mix and apply finish coat over such surfaces;
- Lay bricks and blocks;
- Operate sand blast machine to clean walls and other surfaces;
- Mix and apply glues, cements and grouts;
- Drive motor vehicle;
- Prepare cement floors, sidewalks, stairs and curbings; operate power hammers and power trowels;
- Operate core drills, jackhammers, diamond saws, to remove concrete and other surfaces for repair and installation of conduit, air lines, etc.
- Apply non-skid surfaces, safety strips, etc.;
- Estimate time and material for jobs;
- Pour concrete floors, walls and foundations; lay bricks and blocks as required;
- May prepare masonary floors for floor coverings; repair ceramic tile and grout;
- May perform work in other trades;
- May lead or instruct helpers as required;
- Perform related duties as required.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a mason/plasterer, or full journey status as a mason/plasterer in a union; or, four years’ applicable work experience. Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
