About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will support patient care, ensure efficient registration and discharge processes, maintain accurate records, and provide courteous assistance to patients and families. This position combines both clinical responsibilities and administrative duties, making it ideal for candidates who want to make a meaningful impact in both patient care and clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care Duties:

Perform basic patient care procedures with compassion and accuracy.

Take and record vital signs, height, and weight.

Prepare and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic treatments.

Administer oral and intramuscular medications.

Provide catheter care, oxygen therapy, and apply sterile/non-sterile compresses.

Assist with minor outpatient surgeries and physical examinations.

Collect and process specimens (blood, urine, stool, sputum); perform venipunctures and EKGs.

Educate patients and families as directed by physicians.
Administrative & Clerical Duties:

Greet and register patients, prepare records, and process insurance/payor information.

Manage patient accounts, billing, and payment arrangements.

Post charges and payments daily with accurate accounting.

Obtain pre-certification from insurance carriers for admissions and procedures.

Answer inquiries regarding patient accounts and insurance benefits.

Operate office equipment, communication systems, and maintain appointment schedules.

Assist with compiling reports, correspondence, and insurance billing documentation.
Clinic Operations:

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized examination and treatment area.

Prepare equipment for sterilization and ensure infection control compliance.

Support efficient patient flow through time management and coordination.

Participate in staff conferences, training, and committees as assigned.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program.

Ability to type at least 30 words per minute accurately.

3–6 months of on-the-job training or related experience preferred.
