About the Job

Cottage Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant – Ambulatory to join our Cottage Medical Group Pediatric Multispecialty Clinic team. This role involves assisting physicians with daily clinical functions to ensure a smooth and efficient patient visit. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and organizing medical records and charts for the physician.

  • Accompanying the physician during patient visits to capture and transcribe documentation using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

  • Performing various medical assistant duties, including point-of-care testing, removing bandages and dressings, conducting EKGs, and other clinical tasks as required in the clinic setting.

Qualifications

The following qualifications represent the minimum necessary for success in this position:

Education:

  • Minimum: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or one (1) year of equivalent work experience.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Minimum: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum: Knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology.

  • Ability to understand, use, interpret, document, and maintain records.

  • Typing speed of 50+ words per minute.

Years of Related Work Experience:

  • Minimum: 1 year of medical scribe experience in a clinical setting.
