Medical Assistant – Back Office (Part-Time)
Location: Multiple Locations Across California
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (Back Office) to support patient care and clinic operations in a fast-paced urgent care environment. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring patients receive efficient and compassionate service while working closely with providers and other team members. This hands-on role involves taking vitals, charting procedures, processing labs, and supporting clinical exams and patient flow.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients and gather relevant medical history and background.

Take and record patient vitals.

Confirm and update pharmacy preferences in Experity EMR.

Process prescriptions, order labs/imaging, and ensure all documentation is accurate.

Assist with exams and procedures, maintaining sterile technique and chaperoning when needed.

Set up exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.

Maintain seamless patient flow by coordinating with staff and providers.

Perform phlebotomy and COVID testing, adhering to clinical standards.

Ensure labs are reviewed, closed out, and properly communicated to patients daily.

Uphold a clean, organized, and professional clinic environment.

Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly.
Minimum Requirements:

Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.

High school diploma or GED.

1+ year of experience in a medical assistant or customer service role.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.

Comfortable using multi-line phones and electronic medical records.

Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of medical assistant experience.

Confident in phlebotomy and performing COVID testing.

Familiarity with Experity EMR is a plus.
