About the Role
Norton Healthcare is looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities in a supportive, patient-centered environment. You will work directly with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to provide compassionate care while ensuring smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:

Escort and greet patients to exam rooms.

Take and record vital signs.

Assist physicians during medical procedures.

Perform phlebotomy and obtain lab specimens.

Calculate, prepare, and administer medications or vaccinations.

Follow infection control and patient safety guidelines.
Administrative Duties:

Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.

Answer phone calls and handle clerical/computer work.

Manage electronic medical records (EMR).

Handle billing, coding, and insurance prior authorizations.

Fax, file, and maintain patient documentation.

Assist with disability forms and FMLA paperwork.

Support communication between patients, physicians, and office staff.

Qualifications
Required:
-
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program OR 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
Preferred:

1+ years of experience in a medical office setting.
-
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
