Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will coordinate patient care alongside physicians, provide clinical support, administer medications, and assist with administrative tasks that improve the overall patient experience. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support

Greet and escort patients from the waiting room to exam rooms.

Prepare patients for exams or treatments and record vital signs.

Assist physicians during patient assessments and procedures.

Perform spirometry and other breathing tests as ordered.

Prepare and sterilize equipment for treatments.

Provide patient education when appropriate.

Accurately document all patient care in medical records.

Call in prescriptions as ordered by the physician or nurse practitioner.

Conduct allergy testing (prick and intradermal) and administer allergy injections.
-
Monitor patients post-injection for potential adverse reactions.
-
Maintain emergency equipment such as oxygen, code kits, and suction devices.

Respond to patient-related telephone calls per clinical protocol.

Obtain referrals and insurance authorizations when needed.

Manage clinical supply stock and medication samples.
Other Responsibilities

Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Maintain knowledge of practice management systems and software.

Attend required training sessions (CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, OIG, Compliance, Security).

Participate in staff meetings and follow organizational policies.

Report compliance issues to management or the designated ethics hotline.

Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 1 year of clinical assisting experience.

Proficiency in practice management systems, email, and internet applications.

Knowledge of word processing software.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Professional, neat appearance.
